Yang Gensi (1922-November 29, 1950), a native of Yanghuolangdian, Taixing City, Jiangsu Province (renamed "Gensixiang" in memory of Yang Gensi in 1955). In February 1944, he joined the New Fourth Army. In November 1945, he joined the Communist Party of China. In October 1950, he participated in the Chinese People's Volunteer Army's war in North Korea. On November 29, Yang Gensi's troops repelled 8 consecutive violent attacks by the enemy with the support of a large number of aircraft and artillery. While reinforcements were on their way, the enemy launched a ninth attack, with more than 40 enemies climbing into position. The wounded Yang Gensi resolutely picked up a 5-kilogram explosive pack, ignited the fuse, and rushed towards the enemy group, killing the enemy who climbed up the position, and completing the task of cutting off the enemy's retreat. 28 years old.
Yang Gensi is the first super hero and super hero of the Chinese People's Volunteers, and the first "Hero of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea" in the Chinese People's Volunteers.
